Hello everyone,
I have a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe. I am currently rebuilding my complete hydraulic system. As I come from Germany and a new Hydroboost is not allowed to be transported on an airplane, I have decided to rebuild it. I now have the problem that my check valve fell out during disassembly of the hydroboost and I don't know how it belongs together.
I got the Kit-501 from Pirate Jack, which includes a check valve. But it looks different to mine.
My metal valve has three small holes and no opening in the middle for a push rod. I have a small ball, the yellow valve and a tiny disk with a square hole (see photo 1). The v-shaped gasket is still in the body.
In the Kit-501, the metal valve has an opening for a pushrod, which is also included in the kit. Plus the yellow valve. No ball and no disk (see photo 2).
Another difference is that I can blow through my yellow valve. There is only a spring inside. This is not possible with the yellow valve from the Kit-501.
Now my questions:
1. Are the two check valve systems interchangeable and identical in function?
2. Is one of the two systems better or newer than the other?
3. In which order do the parts go into the housing? Is the order I have shown correct?
Many thanks in advance!
Greetings from Germany,
Alex
