I want to do a similar project to my 04 Hoe. The factory nav SUCKS!!

Did you have to fabricate any brackets or make changes to the bezel?

Thanks

John

nope, no modifications to the bezel were necessary. just had to buy a mounting bracket. fit in there perfectly.

Awesome thanks

no prob.

it is a lot of work though, dealing with all the different adapters that are necessary if you keep the bose system.

let me know if you have any other questions.

is there not a way to just break the plastic off the xm antenna input so you dont have to buy an adapter?

yes, i was able to use my factory antenna and wire. once you disconnect the antenna wire from the stock tuner, just take off that yellow cover and it will connect right up. i ended up putting some heat shrink over the exposed plug to keep it from grounding on anything.

To be honest I'm thinking of buying all the products and have an installer put it all in.
I'm afraid of messing it up
I also have the rear drop down panasonic DVD player that I want to keep but I was told the GM-OS2 Bose adapter will do that

Do you also have the reverse camera?

Oh and whats it all sound like now it's installed?

no reverse camera yet. waiting to see which one i want to go with. only went with the bose adapter for right now. didn't get the bluetooth or nav adapters.

i haven't had a chance to really mess with the sound, but it sounds very similar to the old headunit but it does sound louder. there are a ton of features to mess with though.

it really wasn't too bad installing. worst part for me was mounting the new xm tuner adapter. using the stock xm antenna, limits where you can mount it. i opted to take out the stock one and mount the new one in the same location with a modified bracket i made.

i mounted it where the stock one was because i used the factory antenna and cable and it wouldn't reach anywhere else. eventually, i want to move it, so that the tuner card is easily accessible.
