2008 tahoe ls

i try to put it in 4x4 but it does not engage...

i can hear the transfer case switch, but then if i hold the brakes and try to spin the tires you can hear the front differential not engaging/ grinding.

yes, i know the grinding is bad.. and not to do it..

any ideas what my problem could be?

has anyone had a problem similar to mine?

It sounds like the diff gears are broke, or the axle shafts are. But I would guess diff.

What are the lift mods on your truck? Looks good.

What do you mean by holding the brakes and trying to spin the tires? Are you doing a brake stand? Do you hear a grinding sound when you do this or when driving normally?

I just have to ask, how do you know 4hi/low does not engage?
