That looks like a great start! I'm thinking minimal box size, so I'd prolly go with a 10". I'm gettin' old, so I don't need a ton of bass, plus a JL 10 will still knock. What do you think about a foward facing port? Where could we mount the amp?

well i looked at the enclosure sizes for 6x9s and they run from about 0.5-0.8 cft, so you could easily recess the top of the enclosure to fit an amp on top, and a 10" needs about 1.25 cft for ported, but since you are thinking about porting then you could face the sub and port forward

Man, that looks great, but I just went and measured, and I only have 6" of clearance in the front and 5" in back. Is this even possible now, with that information?

nope because the 6x9 takes that up, but its still possible to fit the 10 under there but it will most definitely have to face up or down

very intersting... how did it turn out? I kinda want to do the same but all i want is a either a 10 or 12 and change the HU from a denali or escalde i want the navi.. but i love the stock look...
