Why would you do this? Bose doesn't play well with others, so you'd need to swap out the fronts when you pull the HU.

I have not looked at the entire thread, but if you are looking for just bass, then why not add a High-Power LOC by PAC Audio? All you need to do is tap into the rear speaker + / - Wires for both right and left speakers. Then run your RCA Cables from the LOC to your amp. Done.

Simple, and adds the bass you were looking for on a stock Head-Unit.

I don't need a LOC the way I want to do it. All I need are the RCA outputs from my aftermarket head unit.

Ok, Sorry I missed that. I see where you want a Aftermarket HU. In that case, buy the Amp, Wiring Kit, HU, and a Kicker Slim-Box?

I just ordered a Kicker Slim-Mount sub box for a Jeep I am doing an install in next weekend. You can see that box HERE...

Yeah, you can do it, but my experience with Bose is that it will sound less than optimal with aftermarket HU. But maybe things have changed.

Actually, I have the new HU in now, running all the Bose stuff, and believe it or not, it actually sounds better! I couldn't believe it myself.

What HU and sub are you looking into?

I just put a Kenwood single din in, with a CB stacked on top (modded a dash kit so both would fit flush). I use my iPhone & AUX jack to do everything anyway, so I scrapped the DD idea for the CB combo. I'm really happy with the outcome.

As for sub, I'm planning on JL. Either a 10 or a 12. They've never let me down. Great sound with minimum power and air space. I just have to figure out where to hide it all.

Why not do an 8" and clear up any worries about a sufficient box size. This would add enough to the system if done right. You could port that no problem plus you won't have to worry about mounting depths and junk. Those low profile subs are nice but limit performance of the driver and all give a sub par sound. I work with car audio for a living if it helps you appreciate my .02 cents anymore.
