I'm sorta in the same boat. I love this thing but am hating the things that are starting to go wrong with it. I just did the fuel pump and U joints. There's still a broken AC to fix. a knocking noise from the front driver's side and a turn signal short. I still need to replace all the light lenses and assemblies, the cap and rotor, plugs, wires and all of the brakes and HOPE that nothing else goes wrong with it. I'm wanting to fix those things but don't want to fix them and have more shit break. I just can't let it go though. I don't see too many 2 dr ones around and mine is in really good shape so if anything, I'll get something else and put this one in storage or something. What I'm looking at now, because it's the closest thing to a 2dr Tahoe, is an Fj Cruiser in that it's big, square and has 2 doors (the half door doesn't count). I know I'm gonna catch flack for that one.

I've had several gmt400's and never had much issue with them. When properly maintained they are a goodtruck that'll run for a LONG time with minimal issue.

Even if a truck only has 50K and has all up to date maintenance you still have a sub par truck. ****** handling, poor ride, sluggish motor, crappy mileage, some of the worst breaking I ever seen, etc, etc, etc.JMHO

I have the truck, its my daily driver so please dont think im bashing your truck imparticular. I driven many differant trucks and take it from me they suck!

Well gmt400's are getting some age on them at this point so one would have to expect that they'll need some fixes and updates at this point

I agree, it is an old truck. I'm not upset at the quality of the vehicle or it's parts. Things are just now starting to fail and for a 15 year old truck that's not too bad. Even still, dropping $ into it every 3-4 months gets old.

I will tell you what I am going to do being that im not in a position to go buy or lease a new truck for 5,6 or even 700 a month.

I am going to start looking for a low mileage 2001, 2002, 2003 Navigator! I leased a pre owned 1999 Navi at the same time my father purchased my now Escalade and let me tell you!! What a great truck! Fast, powerfull, handled great and stopped even better! And mind you at the time the Navi had almost double the miles! I am assuming if I can find one with low mileage that they can be had for about 5-7K, IMO there equal to the GMT800 but much better in the snow/offroad. These are the OBS of there kind and used to be all over the place so I dont think it will be hard to find what I want.

Oh you to! I thought I was the only one! lol

I have been spending money nearly every few months for the last 3 years. The last 2 years im in over probably 7g's. I know it sounds alot and if I knew this in the begining I would have dumped it. But two hundred here and 6 hundred here it goes quick!

I still NEED a center console, driver seat, and lifters for starters but by the time I take care of those three items I WILL GUARANTEE there will be 3 more problems. Its been this way for as long as I remember!:sleepy10:

I have a 82 1 ton chevy and it is a tow truck and whenever we used it it never really broke and it had a 350 and if we tried to get it back and running it probably wouldn't need much so I can say that chevy trucks are tuff and durable

Yes the old and new are great! My pops had numerous pickup's, astro's and full size vans and never had any of these issues. It wasnt until Chevy released these 400's when I think they went temporarily downhill. JMHO

My 96ecsb has 246,000miles and my stepson drives the crap out of it.
I never seen a vehicle that was 15yrs old with this many miles run like this truck,Burns no oil(no leaks either)Gets really good MPG(18-20). Point is there are tons of the GM400 series trucks out there with 200,000+ miles they couldn't have been to awful bad.

My dad owned a 92 gmc ecsb that he bought new. Put 300k on that truck with no major issues and it endured both me and my brother beating the crap out of it (350 with a 5 speed :rocking:) when we were kids. But he also maintained it meticulously and most of the miles were highway. :)
