Ok.. So after all this trouble im going through, i am just going to put a new differential..
I Got a 350 create with K&N CAI/smaller pulleys/short headers/magnaflow exhaust/rebuilt tranny with performance clutches/shiftkit stage 2/corvette servo/automatic t-case 4WD with buttons inside....
What do yall think would be the best route to go with on my 4dr 99 tahoe with mostly city driven and maybe every once in a while (not often) take it off road... I might get a lift on it hopefully and want to do a 6 inch lift but might go lower. WHat are yalls recommendations on this one and what should i get so it can hold up pretty well?

Could i run 4.10 gears with the regular tires i have until i get some 33 in tires and i might just do a 3 in suspension.. I was looking at the eaton detroit Tru-trac limited slip. All i have to find out is what kind of differential unit i have in there which i think its the G80 but not sure...
Also my rear suspension sheet splines are flat... Would the mess up of the differential have caused this?

doesnt matter whats in there now. Its coming out. Its a 30 spline, 8.5"... You can run whatever gear you want with regular tires, just will throw of the speedo and change your gas mileage.. Limited slip is good as well unless you want a full blown Locker.

no idea what your talking about on the sheet splines?? picture>?

Ok.. It sounds like im ordering that unit with 4.10 gears on rear.. Would i have to do the front as will if i dont plan on using the 4wd anytime soon? And is their anything else i would need for that rear differential? also, is this easy enought where i could do it my self with out taking the whole differential out or should i have someone do the work?

Would these work or do other people know of some cheaper ones?

What im talking about are those metal sheets that support the back end of the truck which are bent holding the differential and its part of the suspension... They are sitting flat and dont kow what could have caused them...

Youll have to do the fronts as well..
The first link isnt working
The second link is the wrong year. You need the 8.5" one not 8.6"
