for 33 inch tires 4.56's might be a bit much

My lt285/75/16's are fine with 3.73's 33's are not much bigger.

Eh, I'll be running 4.88's with my 315's when it's time for new tires. Might even be running 285's with 4.88's for a little while. As the saying goes "Don't fear the gear". IMO, you'd rather have more gear, than not enough.

I would agree for serious off-road use.....but he said mostly around town with some off road.If this is his DD the gas will break him.

IF you can not afford to do the fronts at the same time you can disable the 4wd so as not to rip apart your drive train by accident. Post the year and t-case number so I can come up with a disabling procedure.

Youll have to do the fronts as well..
The first link isnt working
The second link is the wrong year. You need the 8.5" one not 8.6"

This is the link:http://www.4wheelparts.com/Drivetra..._s=237&t_pt=5092&t_pl=2214&t_pn=G/22-2021-410

Unless if yall know of a cheaper ones..

Trutrac and a 4.56's would be a good set up. But I'd recommend swapping the 10 bolt for a 14bolt SF

Well i want to keep the same differential case if possible... I wouldnt mind getting a different cover gasket.. Keep in mind i am a college student and i drive about 30 mins to school and back in Houston's Traffic... So i think 4.10 would be the best bet...

I think he is talking about the leaf springs.

Yes i am... Like i dont know if they slipped down because of the fluid dripping inside of the right rear drum could have caused this to happen.. They are just sitting flat... What could i do or how to fix this problem ass well?

I think i will do 4.10 for now and that way i can drop the lift later on and will not have to deal with that problem then...

This is my daily driving truck until i finish College and get my degree for a real job and then i will be able to do more work on it and hopefully if i still have it, i will customize it..

Good point. Never really thought about the MPG part of it. Guess it depends, does he want to sacrifice some MPG's for better power.

I wouldnt mind power at all but at the same time, if i want to do all that, i will have to do it in about 3 more years.. Hope i can keep her...

if your looking for gas mileage tho, why did you buy one of these trucks in the first place???

I never bought it... It was giving to me my senior junior year in high school back in 05...

Well how much are we thinking for the front gears? Do u know of a good price and great brand of gears that would hold up in case i want to have a bit fun every once in a while?

So after getting under their this afternoon, i was able to see some real nasty things... I had replaced the bearings and seal.. Come to find out, the bearings popped out and were running loose inside of the axle.. the seal was bent... So i took the oil out and i started to turn it one way from the left side and it would turn good.. when turned the opposite way, it would get stuck and wouldnt turn al all.. So i started taking parts out and it was easy to pull them off... One of those little brackets that open when the locker locks up was stuck... Then the middle part where the C washers are at just came right out.. Now is their a link where i can go to see how exactly i can take this thing apart with out having to pull the whole thing out...? if not, Then do yall have a link on what exactly i have to do so i can go do all this my self? I really dont want to pay anyone cause allot of people i take it to just say is something else when i know whats the problem and what i need done...

I came to conclusion that something got damaged when my T-case locked up on me on the freeway since i had to replace the t-case.. Could that have been the problem? What yall think..

I also took some picks of the thing while getting pulled apart and if yall want to see just let me know...

First if you springs are sitting flat all the time they are sagging from age(or perhaps you got a lot of wait back there?)most likely fluid do not do that. And sagging springs will not break you differential. Really any gear sets from 4wheel are good sets. The Timken bearings are the bomb. Don't know of prices specifically but the front differential has to come out so that might add some bucks to price. But while it out make sure every seal gets replaced. Call up a local 4wheel store and have them price out each axle and go from there.

What would i have to do to fix the leaf springs? Could i do it on my own? if so, How to?
I had National bearings in their.. I will have to take them back and get my money.. Anyways, Do you know on how to do in the front and the back gears?
