I called Shumacher GMC in Palm Beach..... I was on hold for way too long.......

You can call any gm dealer nationwide including hummer Cadillac GMC Chevrolet Buick, etc they all use the same database

Yup... I was going to call others, but I ended up finding a small company ( in Nevada) that specializes in the shocks.....

I did check out some of the "genuine GM parts" websites.... ( I might have checked out Partsgiant, but don't remember )..... But they showed a multitude of shocks, ... everything but a Sachs-Nivomat type....

If you use your actual VIN (instead of model and year) on those sites they will typically list the shocks that were OE. It's best, though, to check with someone in the dealer network to confirm. Be persistent; if one dealer won't tell you, call another. Let your fingers do the walkin'.

Uh, .. you just reminded me...... Just after I bought my Yukon, I did get a VIN readout, at a dealer ( To check history, etc )...... The service records & dates , confirmed the purchase was a smart choice..... I'll look at the readout..... See if the details are specific....

G65 == manual self adjusting level control. Manual in that it isn't electronic. Thus Nivomat which was created by Sachs.

I don't see any reason for them to be different

Ok, good luck with that; I hope it works out. Nivomat is the technology developed by SACHS, and doesn't necessarily show up as a descriptor on every brand that offers it. Based on what I've seen I still don't think yours came with Nivomat technology for the rear shocks; I could be wrong.

I'd be curious if anyone else with an '05 or '06 4WD XL on this forum has ZW7 AND G65 on the RPO list, or if only the ZW7 code shows up.

If your rear shocks were changed, then, perhaps so were the springs. Better start researching those.

Good news..... I carefully, removed the part # decals off my springs....
They are OEM original. ( whew! )

ZW7 is the designation for Nivomat / Sachs shocks...... But ZW7 isn't the only code....
This website designates all codes.....
