I sure hope a Congressional Investigation is still in the works. I dropped a link via email to a few very proactive attorneys my mom works for. Crossing my fingers that this gets pushed to the next level because I do see a conflict with at least 1 Constitutional Right.

Since Halloween is just around the corner, how about some OnStar Spy Agency faces being tossed out on YouTube, like Joanne Finnorn, Vice-President of OnStar Spy Agency Subscriber Services, being made into Halloween masks? :mwah1:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eppUz5CJA_0

The kids could also wear an OnStar Spy Agency outfit labeled: "Hi! I'm from OnStar Spy Agency, and I'm here to help you", and their noses could grow longer every time they open their mouths.

Bet those kids wouldn't get much candy. :happy175:

Interesting, the video is now private (instead of deleted). They're probably sorting through the thousands of comments to determine how badly they screwed that one up.

We did it.
This has been a full court effort on multiple forums since I got the email.

Hi everyone - We heard from you and realize our proposed amendment to our T&C's did not satisfy your needs. We are announcing today that we are reversing our proposed Terms and Conditions policy changes and will not keep a data connection to subscribers' vehicles after the OnStar service is canceled. We will continue to protect customer and vehicle data privacy and hope to maintain the trust of our more than 6 million subscribers. We are thankful for your feedback and are sorry for any concern we may have caused. Please refer to this link for more information http://www.bit.ly/r07uzH - Lisa

Many thanks for starting this topic, readyman! I didn't like OnStar at all with the policy they had in place when I purchased my 2010 Tahoe last year, which is why I never used the service. When you started this topic, I blew a fuse. :)

I noticed maybe a 100% drop-off in the OnStar PR people posting anywhere on the Internet recently, and a massive increase in negative posts against OnStar. I sure was hoping one of them would make a post in this topic. I was ready to turn the poster into a poster boy or poster girl for eternal stupidity. :rotflmao:

How a committee of OnStar/GM "adults" could think that "opt-out" for non-subscribers was the fork in the road OnStar would take starting on December 1, 2011 is beyond comprehension. Why no one would point out to the others how farkin stupid their decision was prior to announcement signals some continuing serious management problems at OnStar/GM. Some more replacements need to be made.

OnStar will NOT be used by me in any future GM vehicle I purchase. And I won't purchase a GM vehicle unless the dealer has killed OnStar dead before delivery!

I must say I'll never use OnStar again. They really screwed up and currently they still can collect data if you do have an account and I wouldn't rule out them collecting data if you don't have an account.

OnStar has dropped off the radar screen when doing Google searches for twenty-four hour time periods over the last several days. Which is fine with GM and OnStar, I expect. :dogpile:

I'm sure they'll promote some of the incompetent asses involved in this fiasco up the corporate ladder where they can pass along even more of their stupidity. :Insane:
