We recently had the transmission replaced in our 2003 GMC Yukon Denali Xl. Ever since we got it back it has had some strange starting issues. Initially thought it was the starter, replaced with a new unit and replaced the battery due to multiple complete discharges. When you turn they key the engine doesn’t do anything. Doesn’t try to turn over and you do not hear anything from the starter or solenoid. Occasionally it will start and runs great but it is real infrequent. All fuses have checked out and the solenoid relay is clicking and has power to it. Any suggestions where to go from here?

All fuses check out as good and the starter relay is at least clicking. I am going to rug something to check to see if that relay is sending power out. Does anybody have a starter circuit waiting diagram or could what color and where the neutral saftey switch is?

the neutral safety switch is attached to the transmission right where the shift cable connects, there plastic and thin metal and usually kind of fragile feeling, if the switch is out of sync or worn out that could be why it wont start it's a safety device so you don't accidentally start it in gear, you can get under there and take a look at it, it has a electrical connector and a couple bolts holding it on if you have a helper you can have them move the shifter up and down and you can see how it moves back and forth once it is in park you can take the cable off and see if it clicks into place by hand or if it feels like it is in the right position just remember the position it was in before you disconnect it because if you get it out whack then you will have to buy a new one or figure out the right position (prnd123), if you buy a new one they come locked into place with a little metal clip so you can just slap it on and connect the cable and hopefully be in the right position. there usually not very pricey for a aftermarket one I haven't bought one in a while but I'm thinking around $35-40.00
sometimes the wires get a bad connection at the harness so take a close look at them maybe jiggle them around and then try to start it again.
if you take it off there usually on the shaft kind of tight so just wiggle it or use a flat head screw driver to kind of get a little leverage and then it will just slide off

Just got home and it will not start in neutral. Also in the on position the gauge display is not on nor are any of the dash warning lights. I can't remember if they are supposed go be on in the on position.

With the key in the Run position the gauges should work and the idiot lights should, well, light. Bet there is a loose or corroded cable, positive or negative, or just a loose body ground.

I would try take a jumping wire first of all between the body of the starter and negative on the battery. After that I would take out my multimeter and see if you get any responses on it. If not I would dig deeper, I would wiggle on the gear selector and see if you get any reading on the instrument.
Otherwise I would follow the great suggestions all have here above. :)
Maybe even check the ignition lock.

Ignition lock? Do you mean ignition tumbler where the key slides in? Or the ignition switch? The steering wheel does not lock.
