What year is your Denali. I can look into the prices for these tie rods and pitman arm to give you an idea of what you'll pay for the parts. Were they quoting you for inner or outer tie rods? I can't help you with labor though.

These prices are retail at my store. You can get them cheaper from some place like RockAuto. They are a vendor on this forum. Also, these prices are for a 2006 Denali.

Pitman Arm - Moog K6536 - $82.10
Inner Tie rod - Moog ES3488 - $64.20/each
Outer Tie Rod - Moog ES3493T - $71.57/each

Thanks for all the info. It's an '03 Denali, so they are probably the same.

Here's the parts list from the quote, with the prices:

(2) In. tie rod ends 62.01 124.02
(1) Outer tie rod end 65.97 65.97
(1) Pitman arm 194.86 194.86
--------------------
384.85

So, the tie rods seem about right, but the Pitman arm is more than double what you gave me. And God only knows what crap parts they are trying to sell me....guarantee they aren't Moog. My biggest issue with ordering my own parts at this point is finding someone who will ship to Alaska for a reasonable price.

I just checked. Yes, the parts are the same as I quoted for you earlier. Although I am kinda perplexed as to why an inner tie rod would need replacing. Your quote shows both needing replacement, yet only one outer tie rod. That doesn't happen that often. Normally it is the outer tie rods that fail. You have already noticed something questionable with the pitman arm price.I wonder if that quote includes things you don't need. Check with Rock Auto to see if they ship to Alaska at a reasonable price. They are a vendor here.

Thanks again.

Rock Auto's shipping doesn't seem too bad. Combine with the better prices and I'd still save money.

I just had the pitman arm replaced on my truck. The arm, install and alignment ran me $360. Not too bad I guess.

Yup inner tie rods probably don't need replacing those things don't wear out that fast.

I'm taking it to another shop, one that I've dealt with for 20+ years. I'll have them specifically inspect the tie rods and pitman and see what they come up with. Only reason I didn't go to them before is because they don't do alignments. We'll see what they say. Now you guys have me wondering.
