Hey Everyone,
So I've got my purchased lined up for a 1995 2 Dr Tahoe 4x4, 126,000k on the clock, 6inch lift, 35's, exhaust, full sound system. The thing is in good shape but i was just wondering what the best year of these 2 door models is the best. I've been looking at them for a while. There is also a 1995 2 door yukon 6.5l turbo diesel with 235k on clock and mostly stock besides intake and exhaust. Which one would you guys go with? They are both similar price I just dont know if i should go diesel and then put the money into the lift and tires or go gas and have it done but not have the engine life of a diesel.

Thanks guys let me know what you think.

Welcome to the board. I don't know man, that's a tough choice. It would be really hard to pass on the diesel knowing how rare they are and how long they last. I'd probably go with the diesel.

Definitely diesel, they're a whole other type of beast (a torquey beast!). I think you'd like it more

I'm still thinking about it, I'm going to test drive both either tomorrow or monday and I'm pretty sure thats going to make the decision for me.

unknown at this time.
diesel. And did not matter 2 or 4 doors. 2 door models had the spare tire inside instead of below because gas tank was moved from left inside of frame well to very rear. just a shorter body and diesel includes 4l80e tranny on it maybe tougher t-case (can't recall) was only for 2 door models. Would advise a compression test on the diesel before purchase too. A new gm diesel long block will set you back 8 grand but diesel Tahoes are a rare find too.

Go diesel! :D Don't be scared of the 6.5L. There's a few quirks with them, but most of them are easily remedied. I've owned 6.2L's and 6.5L's since I was 19. I love them. I have over 200K on mine right now, and she runs as good as new (well, actually better, since I've done some mods to her).

If you're wondering which is cheaper to operate, gas or diesel, it's really a wash right now. The diesel will get better fuel economy, but with the higher price of diesel fuel, it's the same cash to drive as a gasser is. However, the diesel Tahoe is a very rare animal, and it will make your ride very unique. I've never seen another diesel Tahoe in person.

Visit www.thedieselpage.com for more GM diesel info.

Well looks like the diesel but i just found another one 1994 2 door blazer/tahoe. Has a straight axle conversion 12" of lift, good tires, GM 400 crate motor with 5k miles and new transmission all geared for the tires. So I'm thinking this SAS is the one to go with, there arent many like that and it costs thousands for one of those.

Barstow, Orange county, and long beach. Craigslist and autotrader. I've been looking for a 2 door or 4 door tahoe for a while now. Im still considering if i go with a cheaper stock one and lift it myself with tires or buy one for a little more that already is lifted. My price range is around 6k top and all the ones ive found are around that or a little less.
