Problems you run into with the ford Modular power plants and Lincoln Creative engineering.
1. Plastic or nylon chain guides break and allow the chain to jump and get caught on the guide mounting studs.
2.Spark plugs threads in the head strip. Not cheap to have fixed but they have come up with a decent fix that requires drilling them out and sleaving them or some crap. Kinda makes you wanna puke if you do your own servicing because you don't want to touch it. 3. If it's variable valve timing those cam phasers were a problem at first. Heard rumbling about some bad batches that lasted a whole 10K to 15K miles.
4.The biggest problem with them is the Air ride suspension. Most in that year range run bags on all 4 corners if I remember correct. The bags go bad, lines go bad, at least 100 bucks a bag and that was some guy I found that could give them to me at his cost. Not even sure it was legit since no one can find him anymore lol.
I personally have been thinking about trying to find a Denali in that same year range and getting rid of the aging tahoe.
