newb 99 tahoe ls owner with questions

this newb just bought a 99 tahoe ls and looking to address anything major during the winter here in minnesota. i'm pulling a p0785 code. tranny doesn't seem to slip but this code keeps coming back. failed 3-2 solenoid?
does this need to addressed by a transmission expert? any idea of a ballpark estimate on time and cost?
also the ABS light comes on but stays on, is this abnormal?
if i can find the answers in the tech forum, please point me in the right direction.

is that the only code? condition of tranny fuse. ABS light on is most commonly a dirty front wheel sensor.

that is the same code twice anyway. i dont have a scanner so this is through autozone. im hoping the ignition switch is bad vs. the actual solenoids. my center console display has gone out intermittently also? weird! i'll clear it and see if i get a diff code this time

that is just one solenoid. Find a shop that has a scanner that can manually trigger that valve and listen with a stethoscope on tranny pan to hear if it is moving.

a regualar auto repair shop like an indy shop, or dealership? or should i go to a chain transmission place like kennedy? (it's a chain here anyway) sorry for the lack of knowledge in advance!

a tranny shop would be best preferably independent.

if they here it moving around then it is most like every thing electronic works and the valving will need to come out for repair.
