Yeah, when I mentioned weight I was referring to weight at the hitch (tougue weight) but that is good to point out.
As far determining tongue weight, the easiest is to have a the entire setup weighed. Camping World has one for ~$100, go to a weight scale, or I think U-Haul may have one to rent. Make sure the tongue is the height during actual towing and this should be ~10% of the total weight. Of course do not exceed the limits (towing/load capacity) of the truck. I tow very little, so make sure you confirm things with someone/company with more experience.
Air bags in the coils do help provided that the proper tongue weight is applied.
