Thinkin about buying some rims for my 'Hoe but I live in a high crime area. People get rims stolen all the time around here. What are some options for keepin the rims on my truck? Is an alarm the only way to go? Wheel locks?

Most new rims come with special wheel locks which is at least a deterrent.

But also wheel clamps are a good secondary form of security.

Then an alarm as a third should just about cover you. But don't get the same alarm that everybody in the world gets as it's totally ineffective.
I would get the alarm that gives off a very high pitch and loud horn sound which should get everybody's attention

Just my 2 cents

Ok thanks, and if none of those work there is always the 12 gauge :)

They have this product called "wheel safe". You can google it. I read about it awhile back in a DUB mag article. You can run it as independent or hook it up to your aftermarket alarm system. It runs for about $200 not including installation. That's your best deterrent.

One friend told me that the way alot of thieves take wheels are by cutting the valve stems. This let's all the air out of the tires and once the bolts are off they can slip the wheels off without lifting the vehicle. So a tilt sensor has no effect if a thief uses this option. To replace all four stems is about $20. So you do the math.

Woah who told you that?
Its kind of hard to get a tire off a rim without the use of special tools, especially with bigh wheels and little tires.
And also that whole process would take a while.
I have Gorilla Guard wheel lock system which is pretty much every one of the six lugs per wheel are wheel locks, so basically they would have to butcher 24 wheel locks somehomw before taking my wheels as compared to butchering 4 of them, alot safer :imo:
