Okay, the shop did not replace all of the components to restore your security system to functionality; it sounds like they attempted to wire a permanent resistor into the ignition to "spoof" the BCM.

That is why the yellow wire was disconnected, they didn't "forget to hook it up" because it is part of a harness that is either plugged in or not plugged in; this is a common bypass for a dead VATS system but $2000 is enough to easily buy the new tumbler and keys; if they charged you 2k for a hack that they didn't even do correctly you need to stop using that shop.

Your options are.
1) pull the column apart and restore the wiring to stock, then replace the key tumbler and do a security relearn.
2) pull the column apart and do the resistor hack correctly, then do the security relearn.
3) find someone with a program like HPtuners that will go in and disable the VATS system permanently in the programming (this is the best solution for an old creaky VATS)

If done correctly the resistor hack is pretty reliable and costs about 1 dollar, but the number of people that cannot seem to get that hack right is astounding; your story is not uncommon.

VATS(which came out on the 86 vette) is an entirely different anti theft system than Passlock 1 & 2. He doesnt have a resistor on his key so he has Passlock which is a magnet and hall effect switches. A resistor will not trick Passlock.

I've done what everybody has said and this vehicle still does not start it is going to the junkyard because I'll get more satisfaction I think watching it gets smashed at this point thanks everybody I appreciate everything oh and trust me I stopped using that shop typically I don't use a shop this was the only place in my town I could find that was not a GM shop that could do the padlock fix according to them and obviously they didn't do it right and they won't stand behind it after a month and a half but again guys thank you

Satisfying to crush it? Maybe.

But that is a lot of money already spent on the vehicle purchase, parts and repairs.

That truck is worth much more sold to someone who might be able to fix it or have the time to part it out.

I understand the frustrations and wanting to go out with a bang (or loud crunch), but financially... Crushing or sending off to the scrap yard for a couple hundred bucks, doesn't make any sense to me. That's a wast of a good truck and a lot of great parts. Engine, transmission and transfer case alone are worth at least $1,000 all together. Maybe more! Doors, fenders, grille assembly, hood, glass, interior parts... Sitting on a gold mine.

Do what you feel you need to do, but I can't see literally throwing all the money you put into into the crusher. I would think you'd want to recoup as much as you could and sell it off at least.

Sorry you couldn't get it running. I know somebody out there probably could get it going, if given the opportunity to buy it from you.

Could be just a bad BCM also since the Passlock system inputs to the BCM. This whole system is stupid easy to troubleshoot with a voltmeter. Its seriously not rocket science. Id get a used BCM off Ebay or salvage yard before I even thought of scrapping a vehicle I just dumped 2k+ into.

Its likely going to be ALOT cheaper to fix what you have than buying another used vehicle (AKA someone elses problem they sold off).

I've done this passlock reset several times and it does nothing I can't get the security light to do anything it's either off which I just realized now that there was a blowing fuse for the radio so I replaced that now the light comes back on but it's off once I shut the door so I'm at the point I'm just selling this vehicle I think
you have to think like a blind man when telling us what the problem is OR make a video and upload it to youtube and link the video here in a post.
have you done anything that was previously suggested? like verifying the starter works? what happens when you turn the key? does the starter run when you turn the key?
let's start again right there
1. starter verified working? yes/no
2. starter runs when I turn the key? yes/no

See post 39. Did you fix yellow wire? Does your anti theft light blink pattern change key off key on?
Radio removed? Fuses all checked? Post pic(s) of wires at column that are disconnected.

All right so this is going to more likely be my final post yes the yellow wire is connected the security light is off I still do not have a running vehicle or starting vehicle I don't care if it's cheaper to get it fixed I have no money I'd rather ride my bike at this point then stare at it sitting in front of my house again anybody who says it's going to be cheaper why don't you buy this from me then instead of telling me how much cheaper it's going to be to fix
