Will do. Gonna get back at it in the morning. I'll keep you apprised. Thanks again.

Borrowed the correct dipstick from a nice lady leaving church. It showed full now after adding almost 3 quarts. Seems much better. Acts perfect at times but has a hiccup now and then. Hoping it may be computer related and straighten itself out.

I'm wondering how it lost 3 quarts- was the entire dipstick tube missing all the way down to where it enters the transmission?

No. It was broken off about half way. I'm baffled too. But it's possible it hasn't been check in many years. I naively trusted the local oil change place to check it each time. Probably when they didn't see a dipstick, they assumed it was a sealed system. Or just didn't care.

We have a rock driveway. But have never noticed a single drop when parking on concrete. No signs of leaks on the undercarriage.

That was one of the things that almost turned me away on my 11 yukon. Went to check the trans fluid and the entire tube came with it. I said nope!! Dealer agreed to fix it (recall, I know) asap, and I crawled under to check and there wasn’t any fluid spots any where. Checked the fluid and it was normal and so took the deal. Best worst decision I’ve made.

Transmission is slipping. Hopefully it's low on fluid. However, there is no dipstick. I know where it should be and trust me. It's not there. Any thoughts?
You have bigger problems than missing tube and dipstick. Any way go to a wreck yard and get a replacement. search on line for vids on how to change it. Or take it a Shop and bite the bullet. Knowing you will have it done right???

Got the tube issue fixed. Seemed to just be low on fluid. 175,000 miles though. Time to trade her in.
