You didnt do it right if there was no blood involved. Didnt drop a tool on your head? Knock yourself out? Smash a finger? Atleast hit your head on the frame?
oh I did it right sir. I did all those things plus got a concussion and had to be transported to the er.

Agreed. If there was no blood and a duct tape Band-Aid temporary fix, the job is not complete.

Had a friend doing an exhaust hanger on his 92 olds tornado. On stands just tall enough to get under the car, for some reason he went in on his chest then tried to roll to his back. He managed to wedge his right arm across his neck so he couldnt breathe or holler and couldn't roll back to unstick himself. He's lucky a couple of us were there just havin a few beers and saw him kicking like a mouse in a trap. I asked him what the hell he was doing, and after a few moments of no answer i got down to see what was happening. Had to jack the car up off of the stands and help twist him out from under the car. Yeah i TRY to not work alone on cars after that experience.

I had access to a lift and specialty ad air tools, not that I needed them. I took my time, even solvent tanked the pan and cross brace. Hopefully I fixed some leaks in the process
I had a old Ford pickup bounce on a lift and the whole rear half of the truck came down right where I was standing just moments before. I just finished installing a completely rebuilt tranny into (I worked at the Tranny shop). The truck was totaled and it was a completely restored 1960's Ford F100. The owner of the tranny shop bought the truck off his insurance company for pennies on the dollar. He actually thanked me for the heck of a deal. It was a customers truck and he was happy because he got more from insurance payout than what he had in it.
Lifts arent as safe as you think they are but they can be lucrative. :p

A few years back I had just gotten home from the local trauma center after getting into a crash on my Harley bagger and I had my 02 Denali up on jack stands to replace the rear diff cover with a girdle I had just received. In the crash, I had fractured my left shoulder socket and also my right shoulder had suffered a complete AC joint separation. I had taken a few pain meds lol and wasn’t in much pain so I thought it was a simple enough project, no problem just take it slow. I didn’t think about the fact that since the left shoulder socket was cracked it wasn’t doing a real solid job of holding that shoulder together. I got in one of those awkward positions under there where I had to twist my shoulders and that one popped out of the socket, plus I’m pretty sure it was holding the fractured socket open. Oh my god I have never felt so much pain, and I had to get out of there and then call my daughter to come get me. I probably should have called an ambulance but I waited. Then at the hospital I had to wait another 2 hours until a doctor put it back in place. Luckily they gave me several injections of morphine while I waited.
