you would have to smooth the out before painting them. IIRC the escalade/denali handles are painted.

also have seen people use pre-95/96 handles that are smooth but you may have to modify them to fit. don't take my word on that though.

If you want painted handles your best bet is to get 99-00 Escalade/Denali handles (since there paint-able don't need to do anything to them) from the dealer or find them online, my Tahoe has the 99-00 Escalade/Denali conversion and my pass side handle broke around the edge so picked one up from the dealer I forget how much it was but there aren't many left in stock through the dealer once they run out that's it, got it painted and threw it out and it looks mint

I painted mine, just make sure to prep them good and shell out for matching paint using the appropriate paint code.

Mine turned out pretty well, not perfect, but you have to get right up on them to tell and even then some people cannot tell.

I used 220 Grit (Very lightly) and it seemed to do the trick.

i painted mine and there the smooth handles. holding up great, besides one of the keyholes where i turned the lock and the key chipped a little paint off, i think it was bad prep in there, but who knows..

sick norcal what primer did you use and did u take the handles out

I painted the door handles in place (I'm an ex-painter so I am confident in my masking skills, lol) and I used white Krylon primer.

Just remember, if it takes you an hour to prep and one minute to paint, you did it right !!
