Hey all, my 05 yukon just got the tranny rebuilt at 271,000, I got it back and now it seems like it has strain when accelerating. 1-2 shift has a delay and sudden kick, and around corners it sometimes shakes as if it’s a wheel bearing. I just don’t see how it could be a wheel bearing since before the rebuild it did none of these things. I replaced the rear pinion seal and the differential yoke the day before it went in for a rebuild, but I also don’t know if that could cause any of the issues. A friend told me they could have not replaced the valve body, among other things. Any ideas would be much appreciated, I’ll be calling the shop to see if they will take a ride with me since it is under warranty. Thanks again

Your friend doesnt know what he is talking about. The transmission shop ONLY replaces the valve body if it unusable. They are otherwise rebuilt and given any needed updates and reused.

During a complete overhaul of a 4L60E tranny the only items that are mandatory to replace during a rebuild are all gaskets and seals, clutches and steels, 2-4 band. All internal hard parts are reused unless they are damaged or upgrade is desired. Some shops always replace tail bushing and pump bushing, Some dont unless they are damaged or out of spec. Pump is typically rebuilt. Seperator plate on valve body is only replaced if damaged/worn. Control solenoids are rarely replaced but I always recommend this with oem parts.

You may have gotten a bad torque converter. It happens sometimes. But 1-2 shift should not involve your torque converter lockup. Lockup doesnt typically happen until around 40-45mph area.
