I finally decided to move my spare from inside to under the 2014 PPV. The key did not fit all the way into the lock in the rear bumper so I decided to drill a hole in the bottom of the lock shaft and go from there.

When I got a good look underneath I found this:

No sign of the lock. Any tips on how to get the lock undone? Thanks.

I think it’s just a keyed plug so to speak. If you can’t lube it up and get it unlocked than my next thought would be a slide hammer.

That whole plastic tube with the lock in it practically fell out on mine. It was very loose.
I'm not sure what actually holds it in there, but you might be able to get the whole tube out and try and work on the lock.

Hmm. the lock that the ignition key goes into is at the back. The original hoist rods would get out of round and just spin around the hoist attachment until one was replaced from a newer model that has a welded ring around the end to keep it from getting out of shape. Somehow, my kids disconnected the last piece and left it in there last time we operated the hoist! It's on the To Do List.
