Run it right out the back or side like stock. If you cut it short underneath the truck the noise will drive you insane. That's too nice a truck to go all redneck on the exhaust!!!!

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I sincerely hope he's just screwing with me, when he keeps telling me he's going to dump it near the front. I'm pretty sure he knows that the crazy Italian will come out and he'll be missing vital parts should it happen.

I think I want the dual (?) tips, off the passenger side, barely visible, stainless or chrome.

Pipe size?

Personally, I'd go a just slightly larger diameter than stock- close enough to look like it could be stock, but has a "got something under the hood" look for anyone that notices. The barely visible works for me too. There's something to be said for being subtle.

+1.

So, slightly larger would be? From everything I've read, 2.5" is the norm? But I'm unclear if smaller is louder or what it even means.

SUCCESS! I GOT IT!!! It's not nearly as loud in video format, but you can hear the jist of it. So turn it up, it's towards the end and imagine it being louder, because it's much louder in person. It also did it in front of my Dad, who not only is the biggest Debbie Downer, but knows absolutely nothing about cars. I mean NOTHING.

View My Video

I'm going to see if there's anything I can do to boost the sound.

Are you talking about the noise that sounds kinda like an engine is revving?

It sounds slightly like a revving, it doesn't translate well (like, at all, actually) over my computer speakers. I can hear it a little better on my phone. I was not revving at all though, that is with my foot off the gas completely. It reverberates through the cab, like a tuning fork.

If anyone can't place where it is, it's around the last third of the video.

It will be hard to capture the sound without a good quality mic...I havent had the sound for 3-4 days now...maybe it had to do with cold temp. Its been 60-70 deg. here lately.

Mine has been triggering on warmer days, it was almost 80 here and it did it twice, within a few hours, once while driving away, over a minute after starting and at 30 mph. The second time a few seconds after start up, with a little less intensity than the previous time. AC at 71, fan on 3.

I emailed to a relative who has been in the car business for over 60 years, he has never heard anything like it. No answers there, either.

Ya it always happens when the engine is still warm. But it only happens within a few seconds of startup never after that, atleast not yet. My gut feeling is that the noise it is not a big issue, it is an American car after all :mexsmoke:.

Have you put on the flowmaster yet?

Nope, not yet, Friday or early next week. I'm wondering if it's done it before and I never heard it because of the radio.
