In re: to reproducing the sound, I have to delete 6-8 30 second videos off my phone every night. Because it refuses to do it until I'm completely immersed in other thoughts and because I have ADD.

I have high hopes that I can record this noise and post it, so I don't have to make a video of me imitating it, which would be interesting, but no, sorry Yates.

Does the sound occur when you treat it differently than the norm, like park it at 5 and it sits all night instead of the regular parking at 9? Or perhaps on a day that you leave at 10 that morning instead of 7? Maybe the length of time it sits is a variable.

Maybe, but here's how it's happened thus far, the first time it had sat for about 4-5 hours and I was going to lunch. The second time I had started it, ran it 8 miles, stopped, started and run another 8, with a 30 minute break, that time it did it when I was reversing. Yesterday, I was leaving work, after it had sat for about 4 hours, this was the most pronounced. So it would appear, shorter sit times produce the noise.

It is possible that it could still be an AC issue. It is difficult to say without a physical inspection, that's why I suggested having a technician look at it. But, I also understand not wanting to take it to a dealer if it is an intermittent issue.

Does it only occur in a certain temperature or at a specified time of day? Or is it completely random?

It appears to be completely random. I've tried to recreate the conditions during which it has happened to no avail. It usually happens around a minute after it has started. In both warm temps (this was the loudest time) and cold temps. Heat or AC trigger it, I believe, but in 09tahoehybrids case, the temp control was off.

I'm reluctant to take it in to the shop if it won't do it, I'd like to have video proof of the noise. I'm actually really hoping it will do it on camera soon, I just want someone else to hear it, so I know I'm not crazy.

I started the car 8 times throughout the day and no noise. Every time I was stretched over the hood ready to record with my phone... it didn't want to do it...of course. Got a few stares at Walgreens though.

Yup, me too! Every single start I was ready. I even had a cop look at me real funny.

Really does this thread need anymore off topic posts? Yes, yes it does. Somebody who loves me just ordered my exhaust! Flowmaster 50 series is heading my way! Now we can check that off the list, one down, a million more to go.
