I bought my Yukon recently and havent needed an oil change. I have the diagnostic readout on my dash that has a "% of oil life" but I dont have any idea of when to change the oil.

I know newer cars dont require oil changes as frequently but I am not sure if the 07 Yukons are like that.

Thanks!

if your unsure, get it changed and record from there. Mainly highway driving, you can go up to 5000 miles. Dirt roads,etc...3000 miles.

if it has the %, it will read 54% life, your good until 1-2%. Then get it changed.

Thanks Blue! I changed my old 94 Yukon ever 3000 regardless but obviously it was much older. Wasnt sure if I should follow the same schedule for my 07.

Thanks!

I change every 3K. Old habits die hard. Funny thing, I reset the % indicator every time. All of the three times I have changed the oil, only 9K.

Others go by the % indicator and I have heard it nets out at around 8K. Anyway, if you don't know, change the oil and go from there. Just like Blue said.:hands:

I go every three thousand miles, and i was told not to trust the oil life monitor by the GMC dealer.

I was told by GM mechanic that if you use synthetic you can go by the % monitor.

Every time we go on a road trip and we have to run into a gas station or something, that is what I return to! :hands: Cracks me up each time. You should see the looks they get when I use the autostart and someone walks by and sees them!!
