I was changing the oil in my 98' Tahoe and while i was draining the oil out someone decided to go for a drive. Needless to say they got about 3/4 of a mile and the Tahoe died and will not start. Hoping there might be a safety switch that was tripped otherwise it looks like a new engine. Anybody have any experience with something like this?

unknown at this time.
it will not even crank over? if not then engine might be seize but you might have interupted the fuel pump operATION IF THE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH WENT BELOW 4 PSI BUT THE PCM IS INVOLved in that as well and should run the pump as needed.

so once again if you can not get it to crank over normally then yes the may have damaged the bearing and crank.

Engine

The engine is not turning over. I've thought about resetting the computer by disconnecting th battery for 1/2 hour.
