Anybody know the number for the Fram Ultimate filter for these motors off the top of your head?

No but isn’t Fran filters basically cardboard? Or is that just the cheap ones? I always use k&n or wix filters personally

it's all basically cardboard of different quality levels but these days there's like 3 or 4 different levels of fram. the highest one basically comes in 1st or 2nd in every decent filter test. usually amsoil being the other good one at 2 to 3 times the price plus no one carries them. you can walk in any Walmart and buy the fram endurance.

edit* I used wix for years, but in all the new style tests it does the worst at being a filter for small stuff while being decent at flow rate. that said, I honestly don't think any of it matters much in real life. if you change your oil regularly. probably go 200k without a filter.

IDK the fram #'s at all.. I've been using the wix 57045 for several years
on several diff gm 900's ... It's a little taller than the oe filter with the
same specs. You can cross that over to fram, might help

I used to avoid ALL Fram oil filters like the plague.
I now avoid ALL 'base' oil filters, regardless of maker / manufacturer.
Not Purolator - Purolator Boss. Not Wix - Wix XP. Not Fram - Fram XG might do, though.

I only use AC Delco Gold or Mobil One extended life filters. Just much heftier than std filters.

Fram "Ultra" XG10060 or XG10575, Fram "Endurance" FE10060 or FE10575, Fram "Titanium" FS10060 or FS10575 will all work and are top tier filters.

Fram Ultra XG10575 *was* the best.
Now it's Fram Endurance FE10575 which is 1" longer.
and it fits no problem. Plenty of protection from the pan & cross member.
Very reasonable price. Walmart on line has them. I won't use anything but Fram these days.
