Not looking good on getting a order placed for a Tahoe HC diesel. Been on the list since before orders opened and dealer hasn't received allotment yet to get my vehicle picked up by Chev for building. I'm dealing with a high volume dealer up here in Ontario and I've dealt with them before with great success. I renew vehicles every 6 months or so and it is a PIA to search dealers and deal with new sales people when I need one. My order sheet is fairly basic its a HC with the HC Deluxe package and floor mats. Sometimes I think Gm/Chev throttles the allotment to create demand don't have much luck ordering them.

They better get this tariff crap sorted out. I love my Yukon but not sure I’d be willing to pay another $30,000 for one. I balked at the Denali XL last year because I refused to pay JT and Chrystia’s luxury tax… even if it was going to be $1500-$2k. Got a loaded XL SLT instead. Kinda regret it now lol.

Crazy how much a year has changed with the new diesel. I ordered our diesel Yukon on Feb 18 last year and it was in our driveway before the end of April (and I’m on the east coast too).

If you’re getting a new truck every 6 months (really?) why not just deal with the sale manager? You must have some sort of discount arranged and should be an easy customer?

Yes I receive discounted pricing I am in a rural area and have a good local dealer but they have no volume. I once placed an order through them and couldn't receive the vehicle in time because of allotment problems. I usually export after 6 months so if the market is good and my replacement vehicle isn't in I miss out on good values. When needing a vehicle GM/Chev has forced me as a consumer to go outside the area to purchase. On this 25 I have now I purchased end of Nov and local dealer hadn't even received allotment to order any yet.

The diesels started getting produced beginning of March. I highly doubt they ship to Canada in any large number until they blast them out to the states first. With the tariffs it won't be cheap wither way sorry to say. Just have patience but tbh idk that it would be worth a 25% to 50% additional cost. Sales will go to crap and then everyone will start blaming everything but.

If Canada puts a retaliatory tariff on US vehicles that would pretty much halt all the GM/Chev large suv sales up here since they all come from Arlington. Add the tariffs to the ridiculous luxury tax and its not a good situation. Since the situation is ever changing I'm carrying on as usual since the potential vehicle is a few months away from landing. Currently there is a $1995 credit applied to the diesel hoping that doesn't go away April 1

Yes usually. It is advantageous with the cdn/us exchange to export the vehicles and do well on them. There are rules to follow as far as timeline and mileages or you will lose your buying privilege's as many people found out during COVID. I am particular about options when I buy and try to have what the market is seeking. Basically if it doesn't make money sense I just hold on to them but usually it does.

You renew vehicles every 6 months? What?
Sounds like a business opportunity. You'd lose your shirt doing that here in the US. Well, maybe not now if you buy today and the tariffs kick in. LOL!

Yes those tariffs will be a game changer. I started in the 90's with Ford pickup trucks keeping them for a year or two then exporting them. Just like anything else its up and down to each their own. Nowadays there's lots of things happening that can change quickly that we don't have control over.
