Ok...thanks for the heads up on the fittings to the firewall...once I took the time and actually started to inspect the lines...this was stating me in the face!

I've noticed replacement fittings in black and white. What's the difference?

Also, it's a pain in the ass to remove!!!

This is EXACTLY the same blowout that I experienced earlier in the summer. And yes, the so-called quick disconnect connectors are a MAJOR PIA to remove.

Don't waste your time on the quick disconnect connector release tools that you can buy at the auto parts stores, as they simply don't work (at least, they did not work for me, and I bought two different designs of tools, and they both failed). I used a hacksaw blade, and I cut though both ends of the thin plastic piece of the quick disconnect that bridges the supposedly quick release white tab, and I did this on both sides of each quick disconnect connector, for both the hoses and the Tees. Then, the quick disconnect connector just pulls off easily.

WARNING, use a set of thin gloves, when working in that area, or the insulation on the firewall just above those quick disconnects will get into your skin and itch like Hell for a few days.

I replaced ALL hoses related to heating, including the one that goes to the coolant reservoir, and I purchased them from Rock Auto. Good thing that I did, as all hoses were stamped with the original manufacture date of my truck.

I purchased the Tees from the GM dealer, at a high price, because I wanted to be sure that I did not have to perform this job again, as a result of substandard Tees (Dorman). I learned this from the folks here in the Forum.

Yeah...i just removed the right side first which came off way easier...it allowed me enough room to use my fingers from both hands to squeeze the tabs and actually pull it off. Which brand replacements did you go with?
