and its just a "LOOK" like DenaliAK said. when the lights come on they'll be 55w 6000k but during the day the front of my hoe will look like demon eyes, no angel eyes around here LOL
bet i get pulled over at least once during the day with them though... thats just my luck recently

I did mine blue over a year ago n used brake caliper paint personally. Just in case. Looks cool during day, and at nite bluer. Cool little mod. I shuld do some shield mods while ur in there. Owe, dont paint the side facing buld the same color. Use a flat black BBQ paint. When I d
Took my projectors apart to do z-tail mod, cutoff mod, shield mod, washer mod n color mod along with clear. I found out that flat black is best for inner side, makes light crisper and cutoff line sharpper. Much research. Hope it helps

i was told on the bmw forum to use caliper paint or engine enamel paint for the heat aspect. i have some caliper paint already b/c i was gonna do my calipers red.
and i was told the same the same thing.. not bbq grill paint but i understand why heat wise, but i was told black will yield a sharper cutoff

Id go black, unless u got chrome on ur rig, personally. I plan on getting black Depots or just painting mine black or white here soon. Hindesite. Do like the chrome, but they dont go with my theme anymore.

I just said BBQ paint cause its cheaper n does the exact same thing. Ive had mine for awhile now, n still look good. It absorbs the light, n reflecting it back n scattering light

Here's what my friend did. He did these for a customer...he has his own side-business customizing lights...he painted the shields green, but also added some green LED's in a half-halo. These are not Tahoe or Yukon lights, but you'll get the idea:

Man this mod looks really cool. Wish i would of known this today, it would be done. Nothing to do today..

but, so your saying, if im reading this right, just paint the outside, (the side facing out) of the shield whichever color and then paint the inside, towards the bulb side flat black? That helps the light, i thought black absorbed it. Just making sure, b/c when i do this, if that helps i'll do that also.

Also, whiteout, did you happen to take any pics of your blue setup?
Denaliak, that green looks cool.

Yes, black absorbs the light, but u want that on bulb side, so cutoff line will be sharper cause light wont be reflecting off shield. Hope u understand. Be carefull about putting any colored lights/LEDS besides white or yellow up front. Most/all states its illegal to have any other colors besides yellow or white to be visible from front of vehicle. In AZ I have learned this the hard way many times over, greens, blues or reds just dont go over very well sometimes with certain cops

Ya, ive posted vids of my lights in the forum some where. Colored shield mod? Z-tail mod? Best mod to do IMO.

Here is vids of my lights-With the Z-Tail mod it gives my lights more colors. Blues, Purples, Greens, Yellows, Reds. When the car bounces up and down with suspension and bumps, lights flicker. Pretty cool i think.th_Video0019.jpg

--- Just did mine in red, but its not very bright at all. and painted the bulb side flat black. we shall tonite---

on another note, not sure how i would do a retro in these halos i have. Only the back half of the projector comes off, the lense is attached to the light----
