Thanks for the info. I did upgrade the headers, intake, and exhaust. And I am getting it tuned in July at the VA Meet.

Let the company know your current mods and any that you plan on in the future. You will be happy with your set up if done right.

I noticed big gains when I swapped in headers and a cam on my 04 Tahoe. Put a blower on not too long after. Stock stall and transmission, not one issue.

Pulled the blower and headers off to sell it, current owner loves the cam.

Would he need to replace lifters regardless since we have AFM? I didnt think aftermarket cams and AFM mixed...

I think GM did a smart thing with the lifters. pull the valve covers remove the rockers, pull the front cover, spin the cam to capture the lifters in their retainers, pull cam and repeat. I know my 6.0 lifters are a little noisy until it warms up.

I do not 100% trust those plastic trays. I have been witness a lifter falling out of the trays on two seperate occasions. i would imagine higher mileage cars are more suspect to fail.

There are ways to keep that from happening though, cheap and simple

That's why I posted that rod process. Buy a 5ft rod from Lowes cut in half makes tips pointy tthen insert into the holes on either side of the cam
