Looks nice. I would want to do fluid drain and refill when doing the bypass upgrade. Maybe consider a Range AFM delete.

The 97k maintenance calls for trans fluid and filter change so I'll probobly do it all at 1 shot. I've heard of the RAFM delete and what it does but not sure what it is exactly. Wheres best place/option to get that done?

Buy it here and plug it in to your OBD under the dash. Simple as that. I've seen better mileage with this and 8 cylinder all the time. Sorry missed link: https://www.rangetechnology.com/

What should I look for as far as lifter issues (is there a way to tell they're going bad before it's too late)? Also want to disable the AFM as suggested, but if there are issues already i rather it fail now while under warranty. I suppose disabling it would prevent any further issues if there are any already though. Scheduled service for trans fluid and filter change. Will also request they install the superior stl010 I purchased.

Basically a lifter can stick closed and you have some ticking or roughness. Not sure if there is a way to know ahead of time. It's certainly not every 5.3. If it's running good, I would install the AFM Range device .

Got first good drive in it today and no complaints, 200 mi rd trip (I'm gonna leave the AC issue for later as I was the only one on the ride complaining. Probobly because the payment is in my name) Trans temps were in 190's [90+ degrees out] and AFM was in effect. I'll get those 2 things addressed, front window tinting, and a good cleaning will be all for the moment:)

May have to go to the dealer @Miami-Dade, I think, suggested in Paramus. The one I went to didnt want to do the bypass nor the fluid and filter change. They said the trans fluid looked dark. Isn't that a great reason to change it? Mentioned problems could arise which is better now while it's under warranty, rather than later. They suggested changing transfer case fluid but that was done about 10k miles ago according to the carfax.

The last time Paramus Chevrolet changed the trans fluid they did not change out the filter. When I brought it up they said they do not do that. Fluid after the change stayed clean for the next 40-50K miles till I changed it again. The dealer in Florida said they do not do the filter either. I called several other dealers in Florida at the time and all gave me the same story. I am sure some dealers do it but none of mine do.

Yes I would change it out. I never saw dark trans fluid in my Tahoe since day 1.

Greenbrook GMC didnt offer to just change the fluid, they just sent me packing lol. If Paramus doesn't work out I got a trusted old school transmission shop that might do a simple drain and fill for me. If changing the fluid damages it, it was already doing bad. Cabin filer change helped my AC concerns. The lady so happy she dont have to hear about anymore lol.

Yes I recently changed my Cabin Filter [as I going back in the road Monday] and it definitely helped.

Just so you know there is a good Diner right by Paramus C [Suburban Diner] which is very good. Been going there for years. The main downside to Paramus C is the constant congestion on Route 17. Last time I was there neighboring towns had their PPV Tahoe's in there for service.
