Got a question for all who have installed the P4200-DVD.

I installed mine with XM, u200V ipod cable, and video by pass about a week ago. Now that I have used it for a bit, I have came up with a couple ideas for future use.

1. I want to install an audio/video input plate to hook up to the aux audio/video input on back of unit. Something like this. http://themobilevideostore.com/product_info.php/cPath/24_151/products_id/350

2. (And main reason for the post). I wondered if I can run a passive USB hub to the back of the unit so I can have access from my console. I want to hook the USB hub to the unit, then the Ipod cable to the hub. With the intent that I will be able to plug in a usb stick if need be. Has anyone else tried to do something like this? Will the Ipod still charge? Does the unit get confused if I have both the ipod and usb stick plugged in?

Any thoughts or idea will be great.

Thanks

i dont think the usb port from the hu supplies enough power to power two items, but you could just load whatever you were wanting to load on the usb onto a sd card and that would work, the usb will charge the ipod and play music with just the normal charge cable, im not really sure why u need the u200v cable

Yes. That is the only way you can play Ipod video.. I tried using just a USB to Ipod cable, but only audio will pass.

yes i will be doing the bypass, just wondering if a 4 pin relay will work the same as a 5 pin relay, the 4200 has an sd slot, navigation port, and i wanna say it has the slide effect like the iphone and the ipod interfaces are better and the 4200 has RDS, nick you should check on ebay and other places for the harnesses, i know ive seen the steering wheel interface for $40 on ebay and the gmos goes for about $60

Do you need to buy the pioneer bluetooth adapter or is there a cord to hook up to the existing bluetooth?

Something to keep in mind when deciding on the 3200bt and 4200dvd (because someone had mentioned it in an earlier post)

The 3200bt does come with the bluetooth integrated (which is one of the best bluetooth, I've ever come across) which allows you to dial via touch screen, where as the 4200dvd with the added bluetooth module cannot, you'll have to dial via phone.

But the 4200dvd with bluetooth module will allow you to stream audio (pandora, etc...) where as the 3200bt will not.

4200dvd's USB input is in the rear (which is what I like) I don't like that the 3200bt is in the front (though it's a better access to USB) some cars don't have a place to put the ipod and most of my customers don't like that the Ipod is in plain view and it's an inconvenience to always unplug it and hide it.

Both great units for the price! you'll just have to go with the unit that fits your needs.
