I do a lot of walking because of how far away I park from everyone.

If one shops at Wal-Mart, you damn better park away from everyone else! A quarter of the people in there are at least seventy-five pounds overweight, and they have to swing the doors out as far as possible to get their fat asses in and out of their vehicles. :mfr_omg:

Also how does the paintless door repair work?
We have to go in behind the dent with multiple bars and rods to push the dent back out. We use a light as reflection to get the dent perfectly flat again.

Here is a good video of the detail of all the little pushes that takes place for one dent. http://vimeo.com/5884867

so i found a nice ding on top of my hood on one of the humps. i popped the hood and looked underneath the black heat padding thing and the ding area is located above a double layered section of the hood. how do the pdr guys access the ding site if there's a layer of additional metal covering it up? do they have to drill?

mine's a hybrid so the hood is also aluminum. thx

That's a good question Ben... I used a PDR guy before and it was WELL worth the money. I had a huge dent on the rear quarter panel by the gas tank and he just went took off part of the wheel well liner to get to it.

There's a tool they sell at most auto parts stores that works really well and smaller dents and dings. It has two "feet" for each side of the dent or ding and then a post that screws through the middle of the tool. Included in the kit is a "glue" that you put on that post and is in contact with the damaged area. You unscrew that post and as the "glue" grabs the area the dent pops out. Once done the "glue" just rubs off. I'll try and find mine and get a pic for you for reference. It works great though!!

Being super **** about my rides I've used pdr before. More often than I'd like!

I've never gotten a hood ding. What a lovely surprise! Breaking in a new car is such a pleasant experience (heavy sarcasm, 1st world probs).

That exterior glue pop tool sounds cool. I have an appt set for Tuesday.

Thank you!

I don't think these guys care much about that rental car or whatever they're using. I can clearly see an uneven wavy surface plus my dent is a sharp ding like a little rock hit it.
