awesome work man. i keep reading about these swaps and doing research. love my obs and this swap would save from buying a new truck well thats gonna be my excuse to the woman :)

I do the same thing. I figure I'll break her down over time with this same excuse so by the time I do it, it won't be a big deal. :hmm:

i encourage you to start doing your shopping and trying to find motors in a good price range. the prices can be all over the map. if you find one, go ahead and pull the trigger, get you an engine stand, and nickel and dime it a part at a time until the time comes that you need it. even if it takes you a year or longer to piece together what you want to swap in, so be it. don't get in a rush, but be ready to pounce if you find something in your price range. like anything else, good deals don't last long.

closer shot of motor lift plates i made with a buddy of mine to pick up the motor and tranny together without having to pull the valley cover. plus i don't really trust those little bitty bolts to lift it all, even though people do it every day. you don't know my bad luck though, i'd be THAT GUY that pulled all the bolts out of the heads. soooo... 3 big bolts in the front and back of the heads, i feel better about that.

got some stuff done today, buddy came over and we tore into it today. hopefully i'll get the motor and tranny out tomorrow, gonna have to get an earlier start than today, didn't really get rolling until around 2ish this afternoon. stay tuned

i cant wait to see the rest of this, im looking at doin this to my yukon, on the fence between a 383 or going with the 6.0l
