Exactly! I took mine out too, the truck looks better without it.Nope. I would only use it if I was stuck at midnight or in the wilderness and did not have an option because it's a hassle to get off.
Second, my 26s are too tall so I can't use it w/o the car leaning and messing up the tire.
I removed it from the frame and left it in the garage. Can probably save me at least a gallon of gas every tank or so.
Anybody who sits on the side of the road changing a flat tire is lacking common sense. People drive way too bad now, combined with swaying right and left out of their lane so as to get that all important text message sent between sips of coffee. It's just too dangerous to change a flat tire now. Even at midnight on a deserted back road, I would call a wrecker and get towed in to a safe location.
But, I am older than most of you. I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly of modern day drivers. I also not long ago saw a tow truck driver lose a leg by some idiot running over him.
Never had to use one or had a flat. I do have a matching spare if I ever need it though. Couldn't imagine even limping my truck with a stock size tire lol.
