Ok now maybe I CAN tell you when you’re f***ing up. Don’t drive a NVG149 transfer case without front axles or you’ll ruin the viscous coupler. That’s what’s been drilled into my head ever since I’ve bought mine. I heard that you can even damage it from having tires that are a tiny bit of difference in circumference. Also, you’re not supposed to put it on a lift and put it in gear for more than a few minutes. Unless you know something I don’t, anyway. I have looked into these bits of advice over the years and everything I’ve read supports them. I hope you didn’t do any damage.
yea i just wanted to see if it would move at all...with the other borg warner tcase it would just spin the front output

Hmm. I heard it only takes a bit to wreck the transfer case. It’ll probably be ok if it was just a minute. Hope so anyway!

Awesome progress!
not really i want this shit together and moving

started looking around seems like big tires and 1500 axles isnt a good idea so i think im scapping the 8.25ifs swap. @swathdiver you may have been right about the clip inside of the cv axles - but im guessing thats only on GM oem axles- not these garbage cardone axles (not really garbage they been good, but not being able to swap the cv joint is useless to me)

gm has a part no. for just the outer cv joint, meaning it is swapable. so i grabbed that part no off gmparts direct - 26058362 , its discontinued thru gm and where it is still available is like 300bux. if you look up the part no i found some pictures and voila ....theres a goddamn clip plain as day to remove. sooo i figured i would just buy a bunch of oem used axles and see what the deal is. i have 2 hummer h2 axles (like 50bux each ebay) and two 20teen 2500hd axles on the way, one was like 70 bux, the other 110.

centered the axle better after moving it around it was kicked to one side pretty good.

put on the 1.5" rear spacers... could have prob gone 2" but theyre already poked out (on the wheels i have) about as much as i want. @iamdub i would have had to cut the nubs for stock wheels...the dubs have a void (as well as the new wheels) so no grinding the nub for now

there was some whirling sound from the front of the engine, just assumed i never noticed it cause of being lower and the bumper on, who knows....then i noticed the oil feed to the turbo was riding on the crank pulley lol...moved and tied it back.

ac needs a little more charge, i had a little bit in a can left and i got it in there...its cooling and not cycling as much but still needs a touch more. i let it idle for a while, hood closed , on full blast, chiller on, didnt even come up to temp after about 20 mins. (no tstat still)

hardware for the sway bars showed up and should work good

need to top off fluids antifreeze, trans fluid, i did throw another qt of oil in it - it was at the bottom of the hatch mark

i may swap the belt drive back to oem, want to see if there are any steering issues with bigger tires....some low speed, off idle, it doesnt seem to respond and i have to strong arm it. i would have to redo the coolant lines and fuel lines but thats not too big of a deal. just dont want to start more crap unless its really needed right now. andddd i think i might do the 4 piston calipers @Dantheman1540 , same deal tho...dont want to start more mods until its moving

Less power, but more reliability so no more jack stand pics... No track vids... This thread is about to get BOOOOOORIIIIIING! :p

...Unless he comes through with the Denali tractor pull vids.
I’m thinking he can still break sh*t.

#bigtiresbreakstuff

Edit: sorry Randy, I hope you don’t actually break things. :)
