sooo the myths are true.
gm oem axles the cv joint can be removed and replaced.

fedex delivered 3 of my axles, was able to make up one axle that works. with a 1"+ spacer it still pulls the axle out a little when you tighten the axle nut into the wheel hub. but it should work. hopefully the other shows up tomorrow and i can get it done and together.

having to trim bumper and running board to turn, got one side of that done also...little late to be out there with grinder for the other. need to shape it a little smoother but it should come out ok

need to get it back over to shop to get aligned before i drive it around really at all. ive started and ran it for a while a few times, nothing really leaking. need to check trans fluid when it gets up to temp also.
not really seeing any leaks, couple oil pan bolts with a tiny bit of oil on them, theyre tight, not dripping though
i hooked the trans cooler back thru the radiator and trucool 40k. i may run the oil thru it also i have a new oem hose/block but ill prob wait.

Also...its not moving

Axle too short.
i think i have done all i can do fellers... RCV is next
it made it around the block a few times...went on a short trip to get it up to speed, still plenty of power not even in boost, you dont notice the 100lbs at each corner. had boost thingy turned all the way down (wastegate spring). not really any shaking or anything aside from this axle trying to peak out. gave it a little umph and it immediately checked out, had to limp home about 5 miles at 40mph.

the good news....
nothing leaking, staying cool cruising, 160ish lol . slowing at stop light temp will come up a little 175ish but thats cause fans arent running or anything. ac working tiddies, steering actually feels easier than before??? i thought it was going to be trash with the bigger heavier tires, but seems easier than i remember maybe the steering rack is straighter and moves easier. hydroboost still stopping good, but i still want to do the newer 4 pistons.

need to tune for the larger tirrs, speedo and trans, need to try and soften 1st gear shift - it seems ok when trans temps are over 140* but kicks pretty good before then. need to try and settle the idle down also, its up over 1000rpm but that was partly because of everything being electric (water pump, ps pump, fans+fans+fans, intercooler pump) and ac always on. may try and bring it down around 900 or so, its just a pita to tune.

rolls down the road pretty smooth, a little loud exhaust wise - going to double check its not rubbing anywhere. and in the back where the chiller reservoir is, there is a decent size hole thru the floor where i pulled the rear ac out that i need to cover up, think will help a lot.

axles seem a little noisey, may just be from sitting for a while, will prob change fluid in them at buddies shop when it goes for alignment
