Are the spindles aluminum as well?

yep theyre aluminum...there "may" be a steel ring that goes on the inside where the bolts for the wheel bearing bolt to, i've seen some spindles with them and some without trying to find out if theyre needed and where to get them

That would drive me crazy... Seems mis matched. I'm sure it works the same, but I have OCD

you n me both... if they were the same i wouldnt care which way they came. rockauto is great with returns but i dont even know which one to return in hopes of getting the replacement that matches the other

front suspension parts came in...kind of annoying the upper control arms are "different". ordered same part, same product line, consecutive part numbers.

one comes in with a black boot on the ball joint and the other has a blue cover. one finish is smooth the other has the rough cast finish. there really isnt anything on either to identify wtf it is so I dont know which one is the right one.

also parts are wayyy lighter than the cast iron (not steel!)

@RockAuto maybe you can help?

see pics on next post
Yeah that would drive me crazy too.

That's cool... I knew that a lot of the 4wd trucks came with aluminum control arms but I've never seen aluminum spindles.

Do you know how much weight it shaves off getting rid of the steel parts and going all aluminum like you are?

maybe ill weigh it all out when the lowers come in ...only seen one or two other people swap it all over and claim it was around 50lb in savings but seems like more.

each piece is easily less than half the weight of its iron counter part
