Tried one, didn't last long.

There isn't much on it just alternator, tensioner and idler. I've tried the tightest belt I could and it's worse..
I'm thinking maybe it's pulling it so much, tensioner maxes out and it starts to come off the front of the pulley. I've been checking it literally every drive and it's jumped a rib off easily every other drive. Tried spacing the pulley out and it it rides the inside as soon as you start it. So the plastic pulley is flexing or something I don't know

As well as a handful of parts store, rockauto, summit belts

It's gotta be an alignment issue. Could you mount a GoPro under the hood?
dunno whatever it is, it happens high rpm.
this was from a few weeks back when i said f-it and threw a standard washer behind the pulley, not even an 1/8" thick. within a 5 min drive, no high rpm it was riding the tensioner.

and lately when ive been driving it starts walking off the front a few ribs lol. i found a ls1tech thread where they talk about tensioner puller for a 3800 series engine, and later an ls3 camaro tensioner pulley looks to be the same that has taller sides on it. i went ahead and ordered one

I'm seeing taller sides as more of a band-aid. If it's trying to walk off, it'll be dragging against those taller sides and might just climb them. Have you tried using straightedges across all the pulleys to compare "pulley A" to "pulley B" then B to C, C to D, A to C, A to D etc.? Lay one straightedge across one pulley and another straightedge across the other, positioned so they overlap each other. Due to varying pulley widths, they won't align flush with each other. But, the amount they're not flush should be even along their length.

i would need the laser alignment tool, none of the outer edges are the same thickness.... the crank pulley has a 1/4 or so for timing marks outside the belt ribs. but spacing the pulley out and having /\ happen at normal rpm pretty much tells me it cant space out anymore
i think at high rpm the crank is pulling on the belt (underside) to the point where the tensioner maxes out, and at the same time slinging the belt over the topside at the tensioner plastic pulley probably flexes and belt wants to walk off...slightly longer belt and steel pulley may fix it... itll be dragging the taller sides only when in high rpm with the taller sided pulley

Right. That's why I mentioned the two straightedge method. But, it just tests for a crooked pulley and not the alignment of the pulley as a whole.

If they're aligned at idle or low RPM but one moves at high RPM, I'd imagine that you could find the "flexible" one with the engine off. I doubt a bracket is flexing. Have you grabbed the tensioner and tried to move it in and out?

Think you could eliminate the tensioner and go to a manual/ slotted adjustment?
I don’t know if you could combine your current setup with slotted brackets from
Maybe keep the idler, but route the belt under instead of over

something is tilted up forcing the belt in, I would guess the tensioner, try adjusting the tensioner forward/down with a shim or something, too much and it may come off forward.
**pretty sure by adjusting the tensioner angle you can guide the belt how you want., look at the line from the balancer to the tensioner
