Yup, I'm not gonna beat up on you about it. Just wanted to illustrate that there really is a significant difference in the output. A lot of guys say the argument between reflector/projectors is B.S. which I think I just proved wrong.

I know it wasn't a high-quality pic you had, but it tells enough of the story. The fact that, that close to a wall, you can see ANY light above the cutoff says you definitely have glare or you wouldn't see it. But, like I said, I've seen way worse.

Also, as Eagle and I both pointed out earlier, you're most likely too young to suffer the effects that glare can have on an older person's eyes, so you don't notice it as much. I think that half the battle is just convincing people that it exists; whether or not you are personally bothered by it is another story....lol.

It's all good.

As a side note, I know a lot of cops, and I have never heard of any of them pulling anyone over for too bright of lights. Not saying it never happens, but it doesn't happen much, that's for sure. I think they have other things to do around here most of the time.

I was driving to work this morning (dark out) and I crossed paths with an H2 with what I am presuming to be HIDs somewhere in the range of 8K. Now keep in mind a couple of things -

1) H2's are bigass SUVs, and sit pretty tall
2) MY truck is lifted 2" front 1.5" rear
3) I'm not that old (see sidebar)

All that being said, that shit BLINDED THE LIVING **** out of me for about 10 seconds. Big SUV to big SUV, and it still glared like a mofo. I feel sorry for all of the people in smaller cars that he drives past every morning.

I love a good debate. Especially when it's not a bunch of immature girls.

Rock on! I'm learning!

I understand all the cutoff issues. .but it is true.. a porely aimed set of hallogens can be just as bad or worse than any dude with hids who actually tried to keep them out of everyones face....

Dude, if thats true then hook a brother up. I've wanted one for years, but my wife won't even let me go LOOK at a motorcycle, let alone buy one.

then you dont need facts.. you need testicles :D

the worst is lifted trucks with fogs and lows on :imo:

theres a guy that I used to see every night when I went out for a drive OBS slammed silverado with what looked like either 6k or 8k HID's in lows and fogs.

I don't know what kind of housings he had but he lit up his 2 lanes the sidewalk and the brick wall separating the houses from the road and the other 2 lanes that sidewalk and that brick wall while projecting (has nothing to do with the housing) his light a few hundred feet in front of him

I could tell right away when I was behind him because I could literally shut my lights off and drive by him and be fine

BUT the point of my story is one night he drove towards me, opposite side of the road, and they had the most glare I'd ever seen like a wall of light

I'm 17 and that shit blinded me hah!

I like you man.....but go **** yourself. :D

I've almost got her talked into a KLR650 because it's a "dirt bike", for offroad use where I don't have to worry idiots in cars...

The fact that it's a dual sport bike will be made known in due time. :rocking:

What were we talking about? HIDs?

I don't understand why Daniel Stern or whoever this guy is, is attempting to try to ban HID's. I mean, they're for SAFETY. I'm seeing more and more Prius's (did I spell that right) and such other lame cars with HID's. Lately I've been noticing many minivans with HID's.
What's the problem?

Cops having better things to do!!!!! Bet you said that last time you got pulled over?????!!!!!! LOL, you know what I mean.

I live in Arizona, which i don't know what it's like everywhere is, just here. Yes, cops have alot of other things to do, sometimes it doesn't feel like it, but here, just here in AZ, they do bust people for STUPID sh**!!!! I have had blue lights every, and anywhere possible before it was "COOL", and use to get pulled over constantly!! Different light, but still based on the same "type" principle of lighting. I know all the laws now, so know why it's law. Same thing with missalagned, glare or anyother lighting issue or what have you. Cops here "sometimes" don't have better things to do but bust people for B.S. stuff, or what we feels B.S.. But wait, want say it's all B.S. cause it will and may cause somebody else a problem. Don't give em a reason, they won't have a reason!!

This hole thing wasn't to piss anyone off, tell anybody what to do, or what not to do. Just trying to let people know, that even though Daniel Stern may be an ediot for hating HID's, he does influence the right people up high, who make decisions regarding lighting on vehicles. And even though we all may not agree on what he says, he does make SOME valid points, and should be taken into consideration when installing HID's in a vehicle.

Now I love HID's!!! My headlights SUCKED before installing them. Now I can actually see the ground infront of me after installing them. But like I said before, I tried my best to research the best way of doing that, without causing anybody else problems or myself! And just hope everyone else would do the same. Now very true on HID's beeing in almost every new car now, but those are OEM inside HID headlight housing designed for an HID bulb. Even putting them inside a halogen projector, still isn't technically "legal". I mean, if you read the laws, even putting aftermarket fog lights on your vehicle can be considered illegal. If you read the box on most any aftermarket lighting device, it will state "for offroad use only", even some halogen bulbs say that. Not me saying that.

Again, not saying ANYBODY is gonna get pulled over for there aftermarket HID's, but do some research on the net for "ARE HID's ILLEGAL" , and guarantee you will read where people HAVE been pulled over for HID's in there vehicles. NOt making this up!!!

again.... I LOVE MY HID'S, AND I SAY THIS:

"FROM MY COLD, DEAD HANDS" LOL
