Rear brakes getting hot....HELP!

I finally got the left rear hose replaced and it still does the same thing. Left side is a little hotter then the right side. Thinking now I need to replace the center hose.

What trailer or what are you pulling on it?

If youre replacing hoses, i would be cost effective to go with a stainless steal line kit rather than replacing individual lines from autozone. I that note. I have the stainless rear center line for your truck. mine has the active brakes and i needed the 2 separate lines. PM me if you want it.

I wasnt pulling a trailer this time....just went up the road and was a maybe medium amount of braking got it hot. 300 degrees atleast on the rotor and left rear pads smoke. Right rear was around 225-250 degrees. Im starting to think its the master cylinder.

I would replace both rear rotors. I also had to replace axle seals. You may have some axle fluid stuck in between your rotors.

You said you bled both sides but didn't say you did the front. An option is you're breaking much more in the rear then the normal 60-40 or so. I'd be looking into front hoses/master cylinder next before wasting money on the rear. If anything they are working fine/too hard and the fronts are providing nothing.

Thats why im thinking master cylinder now. Would pulling the abs fuse cause this maybe? I put it back in and ill drive it tomorrow and see.

Proportioning valve could cause this or master cylinder not bled properly.

If you replace the master cylinder, be sure to follow instructions on how to pre-bleed the cylinder.

If there is air in the front brake system, the rear will be doing most of the braking.

If bleeding the brakes does not work, you are left with proportioning valve or master cylinder replacement.
