Rear lift springs???

I'm just getting started looking into lift ideas for my 2016 Tahoe but it seems there are only spacers available to lift the rear of the tahoe in the 2-3" range? Does no one make aftermarket springs that lift the rear 2-3"? I plan to 4-wheel my Tahoe a little bit getting to some dispersed camping areas and I like the idea of having better articulation/wheel travel in the rear suspension but if spacers are the only choice then I guess that's what I will use
I had a tacoma before my tahoe and jeeps before that, so the lack of aftermarket is definitely frustrating. Thank god for this forum though... tons of good info

I think lifting the rear with new, longer springs vs. spacers is an absolutely wonderful idea!!!
I looked at doing this myself, when I put the 4" lift on. There were so many other purchases going on at the time, like new wheels and tires, that it was hard to justify the additional cost of new rear coils when there was nothing wrong with mine. But, it's still in the back of my mind. If and when I need new rear shocks then I will certainly be swapping the spacers for lifting coils.
I came across this company months ago and spoke with a rep. They provided a quote to me for a pair of rear coil springs providing 3" of lift. I think it was around $350-500. Coil Spring Specialists out of Kansas.
Poke around their website but I think reaching out to them will get you answers the quickest.

Good info, thank you! That's definitely pretty steep for some coil spring... I will probably just go with spacers for now and hopefully the aftermarket will get better as these trucks get older

there are several good spring manufacturers around that can do it, the issue is maintaining ride quality as well. i assure you., it will be trial and error getting everything correct. Companies that offer these parts do R&D...

not saying dont do it, most likely if they are reputable, they will come very close and you would never know with out trying a slightly different spring. For example...

If some one can measure a Z71 Hoe and Suburban (for info) it would be nice to see axle to frame height...the Z71 has a 300# stiffer rear coil. That should offer some lift to a non Z71 suspension. ST.Louis spring in Missouri does good work as well.

i even know some have reached out to Eibach and the likes for a custom spring.

I am looking at doing something like this on mine so I can get better travel. Right now I have a longer springs but, my kit has shock, control arm and panhard relocation brackets. My plan is to use the stock mounts and the Spohn off road kit and a custom set of King shocks. I am still working out the details and parts.

A longer spring and a longer stroke shock sound like a good idea. Be sure to check clearances and drive shaft angles before you get committed. I think you will need longer control arms and panhard bar so you can get everything adjusted and working.

This is my rear suspension setup, Z71 coils and 2” spacer gave me the perfect 4.5” height and factory ride and rake for heavy loads….. front is just a 3” spacer. Has 7k miles on it and love it. So does the wife

@Rockcrawler11 - Are you saying that the z71 rear coils springs gave you approx. 2-2.5" of rear lift alone?
That’s what it looked like to me when I installed them. Seems closer to 2” than 2.5”…. When I’m home in a few weeks I’ll take a measurement. Even with a 3” spacer up front I still have a 1.5”-2” rake at the rear…. I also have a non autoride model.
