Hey everyone, I have a 2000 z71 hoe, late model, and am getting ready to get new tires soon, wanted everyone's thoughts. Currently I have Michelen LTX M+S, which too great in the snow and on ice, and in mud and are quiet. They seem to be pretty soft though even though the ply is 4. I need something that will do well in the snow and ice as well as the occasional mud I come across, but I'm not looking for something that cuts my MPG much. I currently get 14city, and 16-18 hwy. I do a lot of driving in the snow and ice during the winter, and find myself on dirt roads often. Not that I am not impressed with the Michelens, I just want to know if anyone else has a tire they like better? Thanks.

I really like Firestone Destination AT's. I've had 3 sets on different trucks and just put a brand new set on my Yukon.

For snow and ice bridgestone blizzacks are excellent tires. Reviews on tire rack say a lot of good things about them.

^X2. For work, I had to take a winter driving safety course which included a whole course on top of a mountain in Steamboat, CO made out of compacted snow. By the afternoon though it is solid ice. We drove brand new 2012 Lexus SUV's all sporting the blizzak dm-v1 tires. I was SHOCKED at how awesome they were. If you experience heavy ice/snow during Winter, this is the tire to go with!
