Truck is all clean back in the driveway. We hit some summer monsoon weather last night after meeting up for dinner and drinks with a long time good friend of my moms that lives in north Phoenix, and she let us crash at her house over night. Crazy cool lightning storms last night but I had to drive a bit in the rain, and then the bug splatters all over the front end from driving back had to go so he got a good interior clean with a leather scrub and condition and then a foam bath.

What up fellas! It’s been a bit. Been a busy couple months. My mom and I unfortunately got sick right after our little road trip to Arizona to buy her jeep. She got covid. But thankfully she didn’t get to horribly sick and she recovered well. Was sick for two weeks and then it was just gone. She had some difficulty breathing for a couple days, but once her primary care doctor got her a prescription for an albuteryol inbaler, that solved the breathing problem super quickly. I tested negative for covid but I still think I had it... though I didn’t have any bad symptoms like losing taste or smell. for me it was just like a bad flu. But we’re over it and both healthy.
Her new jeep is running like a champ and she absolutely loves it. Nali is running perfectly as well.

Getting ready for another four day trip to San onofre state beach next weekend for another surf camp. We had decided to try the rv lifestyle for this trip, and had a 25 foot c class motorhome lined up through RVShare for the trip for a decent price. it was all setup til late last night the owner messaged me and had cancelled our booking because apparently the transmission has problems and he can’t get it fixed in time. I was so irritated, and had to scramble to figure out another rental only 8 days out from the trip.... all the c class rvs were stupid expensive. So I’m like alright let’s see if I can find a decently priced travel trailer. Deposit towing wear and tear on my truck, it might be less hassle....
Found an 18 foot trailer, not terribly expensive, perfect weight that’s well within my tow capacity, And had the right sleeping arrangements I need for both my mom and I. So I booked and we will see how I like having a travel trailer. The best part is that I’m picking it up in San Clemente from the owner, which is only like a 15 minute drive from the beach where we’re camping at for surf camp. So it’ll at least be a pretty easy tow and won’t take too much fuel, which is way better than having to fill up the c class motorhome. Here’s what I’ll be towing next weekend:
will have some real time shots behind the Nali and setup at camp next weekend.

Yeah I’m sure it’ll be easy to tow. Loaded down I think it only weighs like 4000lbs. Lol. And I’ve got the maneuvering bit down to a T since I do it all the time either boats. Should be a fun experience.

So quick little update on the truck this week before I get ready for camping trip and amidst a busy work schedule. The last week of May, my mom flew to Hawaii for 6 days after spending three weeks on the east coast sorting family issues. I was irritated that at the last minute she needed me to drive to LAX to pick her Thursday night, and then at the crack of freakin dawn Sunday morning drive her to Ontario airport so she could fly out, because she “FORGOT” to make plans for that.... so all my plans for the weekend got changed. I was actually supposed to be out of town... but since the Ontario LKQ yard is literally a block away from the airport, I decided to make the airport trip worth my while and go see what I could find. That was the trip I found a replacement steering column cover that I had needed, as well as a replacement multifunction switch that didn’t turn out to solve my turn signal issue, but has all the symbols still etched on the stalk so it looks 100 times better than the one that came out of my truck.... Anyways I also happened to find a silver birch metallic 04 Denali, with a rear bumper cover perfectly intact. I pulled the cover and the two top step pads. They’ve been sitting here since that trip cuz I just procrastinated on that project.... Ooi... lol

well a couple weeks ago I was like “I really need to get this over to the shop to get painted...” so I dropped it off and he charged me $200 to paint it. I thought that was fair and he said he’d have it done in a couple days.... well two weeks went by and I had forgot to pick it up.... DOH! He had the shop closed up this past week for some kind of emergency so I was finally able to pick it up and pay for it Yesterday. He did a nice job with paint. A couple little blemishes here and there but most of those will be covered up anyways when the step pads and lower plastic valence and my license plate go on.
But my rear cover currently on the truck is pretty sad.... bit top pads have broken clips in the same place.... on the outer corners, the step pads lift up at the outer edge and it drives me nuts. Both lower screw tabs are broken off on the inside lower piece so the bottom corners wiggle and push in. And there’s a big ass scratch on the passenger side where the bumper cover meets the quarter panel from where I backed into a pole last summer in a parking lot... and I couldn’t get the scratches out. So I’m happy to finally have a good looking cover to put on. I just cleaned it and I’m about to ceramic coat it with Chemical Guys Carbon Force. And then hopefully tomorrow afternoon when I get done with work I can make the swap.. in the meantime here’s the sad cover currently on my truck... lol
