I can't wait to see your results, I've been wanting to upgrade my 06 SD. The stock halogen projectors are just ok....
The retrofit for these is so much worth it, especially considering there’s a couple outfits that make plates to mount the mini H1 projectors. You don’t even need to bake open the headlights- just unscrew your OEM projectors from the back ( you might have to cut permaseal that they’re sealed to the housing with), attach the brackets to the mini H1’s, add a little silicone to seal things, and screw them to the housings. No need to adjust horizontally, etc like when you’re doing normal retrofits.

Yeah it’s a pretty easy retrofit job. I’d never done it ever last year and I had it done in an evening. The stock projectors come out pretty easily and the mini H1s go in easy. And the output is incredible over stock. And it makes the headlight housing look pretty bitchin and modern.

Did you do the mini H1 8.0s in your anzo housings or did you go with a different projector?

Low beam output is pretty great: color temp is actually a little less than the previous setup, 5000K morimotos, versus the 5500K on the Chinese bulbs, but I actually like it. The light is a little whiter and actually easier on my eyes. I drove home, and then back to the ranch, and visibility I think is better with these.

High beams are crazy bright when the cutoff plate in the projector lense moves when I engage high beams, and the full amount of light is coming out plus the LEDs in my high beam location. Like holy crap it’s a lot of light!!

That’s awesome. I thought you had the wiring splitters on already so you get the full high beam effect. I have LED’s in my high beams too on The Beast but on The Machine I went with quad bi-zenons so there’s 2 sets of shutters that open and let me tell you, it’s insane when I hit high beams on it.
