So I headed to the store tonight and pretty soon I hear a sound like something is dragging on the ground so I get out and look underneath and my trans cooler is hanging by the hoses. It wasn’t leaking so I wedged it up there and drove home. The screws I had it mounted with had vibrated out. They were just screwed into some plastic so I through-bolted them. I got lucky it didn’t ruin the cooler.

On my van, whuch has the LS 4.8, my oil cooler line popped out 2 different times, running the motor completely dry--twice. First time I noticed because of smoke, 2nd time I noticed, I just happened to look down at the oil gauge. Luckily nothing happened. You def don't want to blow something--motor or trans--because of something like having no fluid, and not noticing it right away.

Yeah if that would have happened on the freeway it might have been disastrous and that pretty Performabuilt tranny might have got damaged. That would have been very very bad. That cooler is not going anywhere now.

Where do you have it mounted, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one on the bottom behind everything like that!? Looks cool, I ask cause I’m still deciding how and where to mount my 40K.

It's just mounted behind my lower grill. Seems to get plenty of airflow through it. I had to go there because I have a huge intercooler for the blower up front of the radiator. It's the Tru-Cool Max 30k. I wasn't sure if the 40 k would fit but now that I have the 30 installed I see the 40 would have been OK.

That’s pretty slick, I’d love to put mine down there but I think my trailer hitch will be in the way. I was hoping you had it farther back some how.
