Went to drop off a package today, came out of the store and it fired up for half a second and died. If I prime it a few times it will almost start so I'm pretty damn sure it's the fuel pump. I just replaced the filter so I'm sure that's not it. I was considering doing the pump as preventive maintenance anyway so now I will. The damn tank is almost 3/4 full though. Sucks.

I needed to remove some fuel since it had 5/8 of a tank and didn’t really want to taste the gas so I bought one of those drill-powered pump things and hooked a garden hose on it. The first one worked for the first 2 gallon can and then the threads stripped so I got it replaced and that one worked for 4 gallons before it got hot and quit working. I found 2 small rubber pieces in the gas can so I pulled it apart and found 3 more inside the pump and saw 5 total had torn off so I know I didn’t get any pieces in my daughters gas tank where I was dumping the gas. This pump is not recommended. I siphoned the rest of the gas from my tank. Yummy.
