Congratulations. I don't think I would've had your patience. Sorry to hear about your husky. I hope he'll be ok.

Something soothing for me about wiring. Am I the only one? Like I honestly enjoy. Would probably hate it as a job tho lol.
Keep up the good work and don't rush it. Sending good vibes for your pup.

Also you think trimming the back would be fine ? 20180209_134929.jpg

I'm sure hoping so. They took more x-rays today and besides the growth on his neck they found some real small growths in his lungs which may or may not be cancer so they're going to do an ultrasound of his abdomen and we'll go from there. He's over 12 years old but he's also my buddy and I'll do about anything for him. I was hoping to just get the tumor removed but now he needs more tests. He's happy and healthy other than this and you'd never know from looking at him that there's anything wrong. They said it may be possible for him to be fine for a few more years without doing anything but it's impossible to tell.

Thank you for the vibes. I could have cut that out but there's an issue with access since I can't pull the dash trim all the way off because of the air switches- I didn't want to mess with the 16 wires going to them. Anyway, it fit!IMG_7635.JPG

The rear bumper pieces came today so it looks like tomorrow I can install those and get the backup cam mounted. I think a bit of black will look good and it will be nice to be able to get the tailgate open without messing around with it. Anything will look better than the peeling colormatched pads that are too thick for the truck.

Nice work on that stereo wiring. Great patience and problem solving.

Massive positive vibes for you and your dog. I lost one of mine 10 months ago within weeks of seeing him change, still miss him and went to the 11th hour for him. Still paying for that, but there were other plans for him unfortunately. I’m grateful he did not suffer for too long.

I see him in our new 4 month old puppy that is keeping his brother company now. Sorry to clog the truck thread, but I understand what you are going through.

Clog away. Dogs are cool. Here he is in his favorite environment. His name's Kujo. Most awesome dog I've ever known.

...does anybody else have an issue with pictures getting flipped upside down when you load them here? I swear half of mine get flipped, then I have to delete them, go into my computer and flip them upside down, then reload them here, then delete them here, then go re-flip them on my computer, then re load them here. SMH.

No dip trip flip fantasia pic problems here.

Today should have been cake but no. First, I got the deck installed in the dash. It was a challenge getting all that stuff to cram in there but I got it. The Maestro and most of the wiring barely slid into a pocket at the back of the radio cage. Barely. Then I bolted the thing in and replaced the remaining 3 door speakers in record time. At this time things went downhill because as soon as I turned the thing on, I knew something was wrong because there was very little sound. If I started the engine I couldn't hear anything but the engine. I thought something might have happened when I flashed the firmware on the Maestro so I went back and it looked like the factory amp box was checked so I reflashed it with no amp. No change. Then I saw they wired the amp turn on wire with either diagram so I connected it. No change. Then I reflashed it for an amp. No change. It seemed like there was resistors on the speaker leads...then I looked at the harness for the Maestro and there were black heat-shrunk little circuit-board looking things so I called Crutchfield and sure enough, they said use the other leads that had RCA's on them and cut off the RCA's and wire them direct. Success! It sounds friggin awesome. I barely has time to check out the sound before I have to leave and take my Husky to a cancer specialist today. He was diagnosed a couple weeks ago I am hoping and praying he can be helped. I'll be back to finish the install. It's been a great way to keep my mind off things today.

Thanks for guinea piggin it. Cutting off RCA ends just isn't a normal thing so I'd be leery if I didn't already know it was the way to do it.

Best wishes for your fur buddy.

Car audio and accessory wiring, yes. Commercial and residential wiring gets old fast. Wiring up a breaker panel is kinda relaxing, though.

I agree on trimming. I'd use a drill bit in a rotary tool or, if there's enough clearance behind it, a body saw. An oscillating multi tool would be great if it fits in there. I bought one from Hazard Fraught about 6 years ago and am always finding uses for it. They're a great must-have tool to have for the price.
